I've done the RYA competent crew program with Atlantic Sailing and found my experience absolutely stunning.First of all, the procedures and communications are clear, fast and pleasant: I felt support and care from the very first moment of communication.Second, the boat itself is a lovely ride and fully equipped and functional: everything works like a charm, everyone gets a private cabin, huge supply of fresh and quality food -- feels like a home.Third, the tuition itself: it's quite intense and sometimes challenging but at the end you feel like you've got a top value from the week spend aboard. The number of students keeps everyone busy and offers a variety of activities making a perfect balance of skills. Last and definitely not then least are PEOPLE. Incredibly bright and sparkling personalities, they attract students of the same kind. Our crew was all mixed: we all came from the different countries, our background, gender, age etc was all diverse, but we ended up as a great team doing everything together.I can't wait to get back to spend more time here, my hearty wishes of good luck to Atlantic Sailing.
The training was well crafted and presented towards the respective needs of the individual students by Richard and Fadwa. The location in Aracife is ideal; the weather was warm, with clear skies and good winds, which made for excellent training conditions. As an additional benefit the close proximity to the town made for an excellent social environment. The rest of the group were convivial and very personable, so all round it was an excellent week.Additionally, there was something quite mystical about the night sail......highly recommended, give it a go!!
A challenging and rewarding week of Day Skipper training, working with high winds and swells, under the excellent instruction of Richard. A serious but supportive learning environment, which left me with invaluable experience and knowledge that has taken my sailing to the next level. Richard is both a skilled sailor and a skilled teacher, as tuned to the progress of his students as to the wind and waves. Many thanks to Fadwa for thorough and prompt answers to questions while I was considering signing up. Overall, a very professional outfit, with a warm personal touch. Highly recommended if you want a working vacation.
